Is it better to attend with a partner?
Rough Crowd Academy is designed with practice sessions built in. If you attend with a partner, it’s a great way to learn together, have someone to learn with (and on), and spend a fun weekend together.
So wait! Can I come solo?
Oh absolutely! Feel free to come all by yourself if you want to. There are often solo people who decide to practice together, and often those who elect to sit and watch instead. (It’s amazing how much you can learn by watching other people try, fail, try again, and succeed.)
Who should attend?
Typically, we get a buncha perverts who enjoy, are interested in, or are curious about, rough body play. If you’re reading this, that probably means you.
Everyone is welcome. Age, race, gender identification, partnership status, poly, D/s, role, familiarity with BDSM, experience, physical abilities, height, eye color or left shoe size… all do not matter here. If you think this sounds interesting, then you just self-identified, and it is for you. You will never be required to do anything you don’t want to do; you may have an opportunity to try out something new if you want to.
While couples and groupings are always encouraged to come together (hey, isn’t that always nice?), it’s not a requirement to have a partner to come to Rough Crowd Academy.
I’m a bottom/top/switch/Martian/whatever. Is this for me?
Yep!
But I’m a…
Look.
All genders, ages, experience levels, races, shoe sizes, sexual orientations and preferences, religions, pet preferences, fitness levels, tax brackets, partnership status, poly, D/s, M/s, height, eye color, and pizza topping choices are welcome (even all veggie pizza, if that’s your thing; your pizza is not my pizza, and that’s OK).
If you’re into rough body play, or if you think this sounds interesting, then yes, it is for you.
I have military/martial arts/combat training and background. I can’t do rough body play.
We disagree. While it could be that you’re a total psycho who shouldn’t be doing this stuff, that really has nothing to do with your training, does it? You could be a psycho with no training and, say, a big hunting knife – that’s not a safe scenario either. No, your training is just that – training. It can be mitigated, sidestepped, or worked around. You can learn dual pathways. No matter who you are, there’s something you can do, and we just might be able to help you find it.
What should I bring?
- Comfortable clothes you can move freely in
- Layers! The space – and you – will likely heat and cool through the day
- Yoga mat or blanket if you like
- Water bottle
- Snacks to keep your energy up through the day
- Cash for lunch
- Your ID *
* You’re going to have to sign a waiver, just like anywhere else, and show a real, honest-to-goodness Government-Issued ID.
In general, it’s BYOE: Bring Your Own Everything. If you want water, soda, snackies, blanket, etc., just bring it along with you. Nice and simple. Would you really rather pay more and get a can of soda?
