Rough Crowd Academy is coming to Seattle, July 16 and 17, at The Center for Sex Positive Culture. Tickets available now.
The Academy is two back to back day-long intensives (Foundations, and Continuing) that can be combined into a full weekend ticket. It is designed as an immersive experience with a small class, to cover a comprehensive skill set from basics and safety through advanced techniques, refining skills, engaging in practice with review, and demonstration of skills at the end. The environment is relaxed, informal, approachable, intelligent, and fun.
NO LATE ENTRY. Doors will close 10 minutes past 10am on each morning. If you arrive late you will not be permitted entrance, and you will forfeit your ticket. We have a lot to cover, and it’s not fair to others in the class to make them wait while we go back over things we’ve already covered.
Tickets:
- Earlybird ticket cutoff: June 20 (single-day tickets are $85 USD/person)
- Standard ticket cutoff: July 11 (single-day tickets are $95 USD/person)
- Door price (single-day tickets are $95 USD/person)
Discounts available for couple tickets, 2-day weekend passes, and the best deal, a couple’s 2-day weekend passes.
Friday: Social
We will have a social on Friday evening. This is a chance for me to meet all of you and for you to meet everyone who will be in class with you all weekend. Chances are you’ll know some people, and not others. It won’t be a super late night; we’ve got a long weekend ahead of us! Anyone coming to the Academy is invited and encouraged to join us.
Saturday 10am-4pm: Foundations
This is a day for anyone new to rough body play, or anyone who wants to review or solidify their basic skills. We begin with safety and cover important foundation skills and techniques that form the building blocks of everything else we do in rough body play. There will be ample practice time and coaching.
Sunday 10am-4pm: Continuing
For those ready to move up in their rough body play game, and advanced students looking to refine their skills and improve their movements and technique. Anatomy is covered in more depth than in Day 1.
For more detail on what’s in each day, you can check out the standard curriculum for these classes.
For more information and questions answered, check out our FAQ.
Students attending this day’s intensive should have a solid basic understanding of rough body play: control over levels of force, understanding of pain processing, and have some experience with a full range of body contact points. If in doubt, it is recommended that the student take Saturday’s class first, or buy a weekend pass and take both days.

Each day’s schedule looks like this:
Saturday/Sunday:
9:30 am – Doors open. We’ll still be setting up, but come on in, bring your coffee or bagel, get comfortable, socialize, and caffeinate.
10:00 am – Class starts
10:10 am – Doors close. No late entry past this point.
Lunch on your own; lunch will happen somewhere around 12:30/1:00-ish, depending on how quickly we move through the morning material. There are many good places to get food within walking distance of the venue, or feel free to brown bag it.
There will be several breaks through the afternoon to socialize, practice, sit quietly, or just rest your brain.
4:00 pm – Class ends.
What to Bring:
- Comfortable clothes you can move freely in
- Water bottle
- Blanket or yoga mat
- Snacks to keep your energy up through the day
- Cash for lunch
Rough Crowd Gear
We’ll bring a small selection of Rough Crowd t-shirts etc. for sale, but if you want something specific you’re encouraged to order ahead of time. You can buy a selection of Rough Crowd gear when you buy your ticket to the intensive. You’ll be presented with add-ons for your ticket, and all you have to do is order them there; you’ll be able to pick them up at the Social on Friday night, or when you check in on Saturday or Sunday morning.
